Custom Fields Diagnosis Override
Doctor Pro for Jira automatically diagnoses custom fields that are unused, duplicated, or potentially misconfigured. However, we understand that there may be specific fields critical to your operations that you’d like to keep—even if they’re technically flagged as red.
✅ How to Mark a Custom Field as Green (Override)
If you want to override Doctor Pro’s automated assessment and manually mark a custom field as green (safe to keep), you can do this easily without changing the tool's core logic.
🟢 Simply add a description: “Do not remove” to the custom field in Jira.
Once a description is present, Doctor Pro will treat this field as intentionally retained and will not suggest it for cleanup, even if it meets criteria for inactivity or duplication.
Important:
Do not remove the description if you still wish to override the diagnosis. Removing the description will cause the field to be re-evaluated during the next scan.
Why This Matters
Adding a description acts as a soft override mechanism. It allows you to:

How to Add a Description
Navigate to Jira Settings > Work Items > Custom Fields.
Locate the field you want to protect.
Click “Edit”.
In the Description box, add a meaningful note such as:
“Used for quarterly compliance reporting—do not remove.”Save changes.
Once added, this field will appear as green in future Doctor Pro reports, regardless of usage frequency or other flags.
